Safety Manager for Cebu

  • Work from an office or travel extensively to multiple locations of a company
  • Maintain written, oral and computer communication skills to convey information to employees, managers and contractors
  • Apply all health and safety codes, regulations, laws and policies pertaining to the health and safety of the interior and exterior of the facility
  • Assess risks and indentify hazards in the workplace to create a safe and healthy environment
  • Organize, identify and complete permits pertaining to health and safety, such as environmental permits, fire safety permits and operating permits
  • Train employees or teams on a regular basis on all areas of health and safety
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of equipment, machinery and the overall facility such as fire alarms, sprinklers, HVAC systems and parking areas
  • Undergo regular inspections and audits to determine any opportunities for improvement, including but not limited to, inspection of emergency generators, conduct fire drills and test elevators systems
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment as well as knowledge as to each piece's usefullness and life-cycle
  • Inspect and inventory personal protective equipment
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevetion measures
  • Report on health safety awareness, issues and statistics

Qualifications

  • Candidate must be a graduate of a Bachelor's/College degree in Environmental Health or any related Engineering degree with similar discipline
  • At least 4-5 years of related professional working experience
  • Must be able to speak the local dialect of Cebu "Visayan"
  • Capable of identifying known/potential exposures and recommending corrective actions
  • Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite programs
  • Strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
  • Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines
  • Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies
  • Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
  • Excellent organizational and motivational skills
