Extraordinary business leaders honored at Asia CEO Awards

Extraordinary business leaders who have shown outstanding
achievements for their organizations and helped in the development
of the country were recognized by the prestigious Asia CEO Awards
held at the Solaire Resort and Casino on Wednesday night.
With the theme "Emerging Asia," the Asia CEO Awards honored
business leaders who demonstrated good leadership in various
industries in the country.
"It's always good to celebrate excellence and success, and of
course, to recognize the people to produce a kind of track record,
as well as to serve as good role models to our youth," Manuel
Pangilinan, chairman of Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co.
(PLDT), said on the sidelines of the event.

Business tycoon Henry Sy Sr. topped this year's awardees with a
'CEO Lifetime Contributor of the Year' recognition for the private
sector for his determination and dedication in driving the
Philippine economy toward development.
The award was accepted by the tycoon's son, Hans Sy, who said
that his father "truly deserves this recognition."
For the public sector, Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr.
bagged the same distinction for pushing growth in the county's

In line with the ASEAN integration in 2015, Bustamante said they
are also planning to extend the CEO Awards to other Southeast Asian
