2013 has truly been a great year for KMC MAG Group. This year saw the launch of new business lines, addition of key employees, expansion in office space, and completion of new milestones both for the company and its leaders. Aside from sustaining a rapid and massive corporate growth, KMC also provided greater contributions not just to the local real estate industry, but more importantly, to the communities and stakeholders that it works with.

Let's take a trip down memory lane and recall some of the most memorable events and highlights for KMC MAG Group in 2013.

Winning IPAs for the 2nd Time Around

Being named "Best Real Estate Agency in the Philippines" by the International Property Awards is one of the major feats for KMC this year, not only because of the award's prestige, but more so because it bested top multinational companies in the world such as CBRE, Jones Lang Lasalle, Colliers, and regional partner Savills, proving KMC's top quality of service and strong capabilities. KMC also won a "Highly Commended" IPA award in the Real Estate Agency Website category.

Opening of New Site in SM Aura

KMC MAG Group recently acquired a floor of office space in SM Aurathe newest office-retail development on the rise in Bonifacio Global City.  This expansion is driven by the high occupancy rates of KMC's serviced offices, which made it more difficult to cater to the demand for more space from both new and existing clients. The new office will be launched on April 1, 2014 and is expected to add 450 seats in KMC.

Launch of New Business Lines and Services

KMC MAG Group expanded its range of services and business lines this year, offering Hotels & Leisure and Project Management lines and expanding its Research and Consultancy capabilities by adding valuation services. KMC's Hotels & Leisure team offers valuation, feasibility, due diligence services, investment advice, and consultancy services for clients looking to take advantage of PH's booming tourism sector. One notable accomplishment of the team is the recently concluded valuation and feasibility study for Capstone Group's Five Islands project.

The Project Management team, on the other hand, offers site and building evaluation, construction, renovation, and rehabilitation, as well as administration, planning, and consultancy services. An important event for the project management team this year is the addition of Jason Valderrama, a seasoned management professional with over 7 years of experience in managing real estate projects and transactions worth over $130-million.

Meanwhile, KMC's Consultancy & Research Team completed its biggest valuation to date, valuating over $2-billion worth of properties and developments for Alphaland Corporation.

Wider Media Reach and Strong Industry Presence

This year, KMC MAG Group has established a stronger industry presence by expanding its media reach as well as taking part in various industry events. Signaling the company's wide influence in the real estate industry, KMC's credibility and real estate expertise is now being recognized by major media outlets and important organizations in the country. Several key staff, including Melo Porciuncula and Michael McCullough were invited to various events where they shared data, information, and insights about current market trends and forecasts. The company, together with Savills leaders and representatives, also held a media briefing last September.

Building Relationships and Creating New Business Records

KMC MAG Group also broke many of its records this year, closing its largest transactions to date with Aboitiz Group of Companies and Thai real estate agency, Supalai. KMC's investment transaction with Supalai involved the sale of 263,500 sq. ft. of office space. The company also closed an Aboitiz account that required facilities management services for all of its 13 office floors.

Another large transaction for this year was with QBE, one of KMC's tenant representation clients. After securing more than 70,000 sq. ft. of office space for the company in 2012, KMC also brokered additional spaces for QBE's expansion, including 10,700 sq. ft. of space in BGC and 65,000 sq. ft. of space in the Visayas region.
