For Christmas this year, KMC decided to give something special to their clients. The company purchased 50 seedlings through Makati Shangri-La's Be An Angel, Adopt-A-Seedling program. This is in support of Haribon's Rainforest and Organization Advocacies for 2020, an environmental conservation movement committed to restore one million hectares of Philippine rainforests using native tree species by year 2020.

The 50 Narra seedlings are virtually represented in Shangri-La's virtual map, in Plot 107. Currently, the seedings are only virtually represented. They can be nourished and grown when people/guests click "Love" on an individual seedling. This virtual campaign is meant to garner attention to the project until the actual trees are planted in Luzon in early 2013.

As participants in this program, KMC served as the environmental angel encouraging the planting of trees and spreading word about the advocacy to its clients. VP of Marketing Yves Luethi believes they could not have made a better choice for Christmas gifts this year. "We thought of giving seedlings because we wanted to give clients something meaningful. These 50 seedlings will be planted together in one plot. Narra trees are incredibly strong and sturdy. They last for centuries. Aside from being a huge help to the environment, it's a nice thought that our clients would have narra trees in their name, all in one plot," he says.

Certificates of ownership were emailed to chosen clients indicating their seedlings' numbers and virtual plot area.
